November started with a great trip to the forest park in Mile End. It was such a great day out for all parents and children. The children engaged with all the forest activities on offer enthusiastically. We walked through the park with our guide Ken who showed us interesting plants and berries we can use to prepare food.
We also got involved in pond dipping. We found out about different pond creatures and observed them using magnifying glasses. We learned how to lit a fire outdoor in safety and how to prepare hot chocolate with a special kettle. The children loved making arrangements with different colour leaves and made their own stickman using their favourite sticks. It was such a great day!
On the 5th of November we had fireworks in our nursery garden and celebrated Guy Fawkes Day with popcorn and hot chocolate. On the 11th November we celebrated Remembrance Day decorating biscuits and making poppies.
The children were involved in different activities in the nursery garden to develop their gross motor skills and their knowledge about healthy eating and seasonal vegetables and fruits. Many parents found the workshop on phonics with Nicole helpful and interesting.
